For 23 years I was an Officer in the Rhodesian/Zimbabwe Airforce.
I was privileged to evaluate the suitability of various aircraft designs for specific roles.
I flew the M.B. 339, Casa C101 Aviojet, BAe Hawk and others.  All were great performers.

I commenced radio model flying in Rhodesia in 1960 and over the years worked my way through competitive acrobatics and scale flying to end up at the top of the tree in competence.
This past few years my interest has swayed to jet aircraft and I saw the FMA Pampa being demonstrated at the Farnborough Air Show some years ago. It appeared to perform well and I liked the aircraft because it was different.

I selected the Pampa as a base design for my latest aircraft in preference to other designs because of the following:

1. The airframe design of the Pampa followed simple lines with no sophistication.

2. The engine was well located in the lower fuselage slightly behind the wing, with no requirement for an internal jet pipe.

3. The aircraft has a long nose moment which meant there was room for fuel and equipment forward of the aircraft centre of gravity to counter the weight of the engine and tail group.

4. The shoulder wing design offered enhanced stability over the low wing rivals

I have some photographs and specifications of the model in my Photo Gallery.
